Newzealand Sevens team Coach Gordon Tiejtens has helped to groom many young players who have gone on to become regukars for the national 15 aside team the All Blacks including Christian Cullen, Jonah Lomu, and Joe Rokocoko.

 

The higly respected coach insists that the future of the Kenya National Sevens team lies in discovering and nurturing talent at the youth level

 

While admitting that Kenyan Sevens has come of age, Tiejtens believes that for the national team to be regarded as one of the best in the world, they have to improve in their consistency.

 

Tietjens who will be gracing this weekend's Safaricom Sevens as an invited guest was speaking at the Nairobi Womens Hospital where he had gone to pay a courtesy call. The Kenya Sevens team are special ambassadors of the hospital.

 

This years Safaricom Sevens kicks off on Friday and ends on Sunday. K24 and Supersport will show the weekend games live.
