The youth in the country are slowly embracing cooperative movements despite high competition from the higly increased Commercial banks. Permanent Secretary for Cooperative Development and Marketing Seno Nyakenyanya says his ministry has played part in engaging as many youth as possible into the cooperative movement. 

The PS who was speaking during the launch of ushirika month, says the governments' policies are targeting employement and wealth creation and also recognize cooperatives as a major player in the economy. 

He was launching the Ushirika month in Nairobi.
