| South Mugirango residents cry foul over insecurity. |

While the police force is charged with the responsibility of protecting and serving citizens, they appear to have taken on the opposite role in Etago in South Mugirango. The locals claim that Nyamaia OCS and his officers have taken to harassing the locals every now and then, a situation that pushed the locals to take to the streets in protest. The OCS and his men are alleged to have killed two men in the area about three weeks ago. The residents claim the officers involved have not been apprehended. A witness who attempted to give information on the incident claims to have been threatened by the OCS when his bar was raided on Friday night. Although some of the residents reveal that the area OCPD has promised the removal from office of the OCS following the accusations, the residents say that more security measures need to be established. Area Chief Samson Mauti has assured the residents that the security situation will be resolved soon. Comments (0) |
