Ben Kitilli is a sports reporter, who doubles up as an anchor for the most comprehensive sports bulletin in Kenyan television, Eyewitness Sport, on K24 - Kenya's first all news network. He also co-hosts two sporting shows, The Matchbox, a one and half hour program, which airs on saturdays between 1:30 p.m and 3:00 p.m and The Hard Tackle, a 30-minute interview program that airs on saturdays at 7:30 p.m. Ben joined K24 in May 2008 and has covered basically every sport in the land from the Kenyan Premier League, the Tusker Safari Sevens, the Kenya Cup rugby league, the Great Rift ten-a-side tournament, the Kenya Open golf tournament, athletics and cricket among others. Apart from covering action packed sports stories, Ben also reports for K24's daily news bulletins, Eyewitness news from time to time. The highlight of his assignments on the editorial desk was a 20-minute 'untold story' piece on the Mount Kenya forest and Aberdare ranges evictees, who were resettled by the government on Solio ranch, a vast piece of barren land in Laikipia east. The Solio residents were evicted in 1989 and were resettled in 2009 but still live in deplorable conditions and Ben linked their fate to the Mau forest resident's story. Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication (Electronic Media) from Daystar University, Kenya. Comments (0) |
